LAGOS, NIGERIA — Years after graduating as the first first-class student in the Estate Management Department at the University of Lagos, entrepreneur and CEO of O’lavanda Signature, Onyinye Okoh returned to her alma mater not as a student, but as a speaker, mentor, and source of inspiration for the next generation.
The Estate Management community at the University of Lagos invited Okoh to speak at a conference, where she shared lessons from her journey on mindset, excellence, courage, self-belief, and the importance of taking intentional steps toward one’s future.
Today, Okoh is the CEO of O’lavanda Signature, a leading bespoke gifting company, and has built a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem around gifting, creativity, lifestyle and learning.
Reflecting on the experience, Okoh described it as a reminder that where you are today does not have to be where your story ends. Her message to the students was simple but profound: change your mindset, believe that you are capable of more, and refuse to allow fear, doubt or the limitations of your present circumstances to define your future.
“Sometimes, you have to return to where your journey began to fully appreciate how far you have come and to remind yourself that the girl who once sat in those classrooms could never have imagined the woman she would become.”
